Make meaningful changes in your diet.
Patients who have had weight loss surgery will likely tell you that they eat much less food than they did before surgery. However, they may also inform you that they don’t necessarily eat healthier than they did before surgery. While eating smaller amounts of fast food or “junk food” is certainly an improvement, eating these foods less often would also be desirable, and surgery does not force you to do so. You have to make that decision for yourself.
Consider incorporating healthier choices and snacks into your diet, not just smaller portions of foods you know you probably shouldn’t be eating, like fast food, “junk food” and other unhealthy choices.
